Program Overview

The OCCT Training Program is a fast-paced program designed to produce safe, reliable, responsible, knowledgeable, and competent bus drivers. The program offers students an opportunity to earn a New York State Class B Commercial Drivers License. Not only will trainees earn this valuable license, they will also get a small stipend upon successful completion of the program.

Training Program

The training program is currently an eight-week program. Trainees have three three-hour driving sessions a week and a two-hour classroom session. The times for these sessions are flexible and we try our best to accommodate individual obligations. We do, however, require a certain level of flexibility from trainees. The program is fast-paced with the New York State CDL Class B Road Test occurring after the sixth week of driving. Please note that while training is unpaid, those trainees who successfully complete the training program will receive a stipend to reimburse any expenses incurred during the program. While the program is demanding, it is meant to challenge and also be fun. Most of our drivers look at training as a unique and rewarding experience. All training and classroom sessions are mandatory. No exceptions

Note: Training does not end after the road test!! Hiring decisions are based upon successful completion of our entire program.
